Further development of an office concept
Workplaces are undergoing constant change at an ever-increasing pace – as evidenced by IBM headquarters in Stuttgart. Back in 1999, IBM was a pioneer of new work environments with its “e-place” office concept.
On the basis of this office concept, Top Office Management GmbH – in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO – was commissioned to undertake a further survey and evaluation of user needs. The analysis showed that the proportion of communication and cross-functional activities had increased dramatically over the last 10 years.
These findings were to be reflected in a new concept. This resulted in the development of an innovative workplace concept which provides a resilient foundation for the future of IBM employees.
