BASF
Smooth move
In 2003/2004, BASF consolidated all offices at its Ludwigshafen factory site. Top Office worked with BASF’s Building Management department to develop a schematic allocation of the various existing buildings.
The appropriate office types – whether cubicle, group or open-plan – were planned for the individual departments. The schematic allocation took structural interrelationships into account, grouping units according to function to provide optimum support for workflows. The new allocation promotes interdepartmental encounters and informal communication.
Top Office designed the move in such a way as to minimize interruptions to users, allowing them to focus on their work despite the move. After 12 months, some 4,000 workplaces had been smoothly relocated. According to Dr. Werner Regenberg, Director of Property Management / Corporate Real Estate Management at BASF, “Top Office delivered comprehensive qualified consulting for optimization of BASF office space and great ideas for an innovative office concept”.
